Description

The Refuge Clinic operates as an expression of Christ and seeks to connect the hurting to health.  We recognize that every life has infinite value & worth and aim to make true health obtainable physically, spiritually, and mentally for those we serve.  Since opening the doors in 2008, the Refuge Clinic has served thousands of uninsured and under-served residents of Fayette and Jessamine Counties.  The Team is currently seeking a Full-Time Spiritual Care Coordinator, who will implement and carryout the vision of spiritual wellness with patients, staff, and volunteers.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • To invest in the spiritual development of patients and volunteers through pastoral care, mentoring, discipleship and other relational opportunities.

  • Identify, recruit, train and oversee leaders for the Spiritual Care Team.

  • Create intentional pathways for patients to grow in spiritual health.  Encourage patients in finding Christ, growing in Him, baptism, discipleship, discovering their calling and responding in service.

  • Champion the development of a team of leaders to help with: creating community, discipling others, executing events and equipping through training and classes. Maintain  discipleship and leadership development as a continued top priority.


    General Responsibilities:

  • Assess needs of patients and create opportunities for healthy community development through monthly community groups, cookouts/fun activities, etc.

  • Connect patients to a church home where they can continue to learn and grow in their spiritual walk.

  • Build partnerships as appropriate with other Church bodies within the community.

  • Connect patients to support services like Celebrate Recovery, Jubilee Jobs, Helping Through Him, etc.

  • Conduct pastoral care for patients and volunteers including: hospital visits, funerals, etc.

  • Oversee support programs that assist patients in areas like transportation, counseling, mental health and other various social services.


The hours for this position are regular weekday working hours with occasional evening hours.
